For continued public safety, the entire south side of Upper Bidwell Park south of Big Chico Creek from 10 Mile House Road on Hwy 32 and westward is closed to all park users (bicyclist, joggers, hikers, etc) until further notice.

However, areas of Upper Park on the north side of Big Chico Creek will be reopened for the normal days and hours today, which includes the Horseshoe Lake (Lot E) gate, the Yahi Trail, and all swimming areas. The Stoney Fire in Upper Bidwell Park has grown to 956 acres and is 75% contained. There are Fire crews and equipment, fallen trees, and other dangerous conditions in the active fire area on the south side of Big Chico Creek. In addition, Fire crews are using heavy equipment to access the fire area from the north side of Big Chico Creek, east of Horseshoe Lake.

For continued public safety and to not interfere with fire operations, the entire south side of Upper Bidwell Park south of Big Chico Creek from 10 Mile House Road on Hwy 32 and
westward, and the area between and including Upper Park Road and Big Chico Creek east of Horseshoe Lake gate will be closed to all park users (bicyclist, joggers, hikers, etc) until further notice.

Following is a list of the current open and closed areas in Middle and Upper Bidwell Park:
